A young man outdoors, wearing a gray cap with a colorful puzzle piece logo, a light green t-shirt, and a smartwatch, is typing on a laptop. Trees and a brick wall are in the background under a clear blue sky.

ABOUT

Hello, I’m Luis

That's spelt the Portuguese way (I moved to Leeds from Portugal when I was 11), but everyone here says "Lewis". I prefer to make it easy.

I've been the person people call when tech breaks since I was a teenager. I built my first PC at 13, did my IT and telecoms apprenticeship here in Leeds, and picked up my CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ and a bunch of relevant competency qualifications along the way.

Then I spent 12 years doing IT support professionally, even managing a support team, before starting Doorstep IT Guy to do it for my favourite kind of customer: people at home who just want the thing to work.

I grew up in Bramley and know West Leeds like the back of my hand, though I cover the whole city.

I'm a perfectionist by nature (ask me about my retro entertainment setup at your peril) and your Wi-Fi gets exactly the same treatment. I don't consider a job done until it's done properly.

MY PROMISES

How I do business

I'll only sell you what you need

If a £15 cable fixes it, I won't quote you a new computer. Twelve years in IT support taught me exactly how often people get talked into things they don't need and I'm not doing that to my neighbours.

Plain English, always

You'll never be made to feel daft for asking, and you'll never hear jargon unless you ask for it. I'll show you what I did and why, in words that make sense.

If I can't fix it, you don't pay

Simple as that. And I'll still tell you honestly what your options are before I leave.

Right, that's enough about me

What's your computer doing? (Or not doing?)
